“Five Seasons of My Childhood”

Besim Ugzmajli (Dir), 15 minutes, Kosovo / Spain, Western New York Premiere

In Albanian w/ English subtitles.

A journey through childhood memories brings nostalgia full of pain and love. Nothing is as it was in childhood; only memories roam freely and illuminate in retrospect.

The environment and everything of that time has been violently ruined and altered by someone. Seasons have settled in the ruins of troubled memories.

"L'aînée / The eldest"

Alma Jodorowsky (Dir), 19 minutes, France, Western New York Premiere

In French w/ English subtitles.

Ana is 12 years old. A blossoming body and her first adolescent desires fascinate her as much as they frighten her. The discovery of a mysterious letter will outline the contours of a family secret whose silence will increase Ana's anxiety.

"Rooftop Lempicka"

Hang Luong Nguyen (Dir), 20 minutes, Viet Nam / United States, Western New York Premiere

In Vietnamese w/ English subtitles.

2002 Saigon, Vietnam, while her mother is expecting their second child, young Thi befriends club waitress Ngoc who has just moved into their family′s house as a tenant. As their friendship grows, she finds out that Ngoc is an undisclosed sex worker. Meanwhile, the story is silently observed by an art book featuring female nudes by Polish painter Tamara de Lempicka, stolen from a bookstore.


"Finir au Soleil"

Ephrem Koering (Dir), 22 minutes, France, Western New York Premiere

In French w/ English subtitles.

The mother of Louis, 9 years old, acts increasingly distant. Louis doesn't really realize it until the day she goes away for an entire evening.

A feeling of anxiety then takes hold of him. Would she be able to abandon him and his brother?
