Stories of love and other entanglements.

Runtime is 73 minutes.

“Loverdance”

Victor Gomez (Dir), 20 minutes, France / Germany, Western New York Premiere

Lola meets Simon at a 24-hour dance marathon. Motivated by the competition, she tries to avoid the growing complicity between them. But as the eliminations mount and exhaustion becomes insurmountable, her attachment to him could well lead her to victory...

Many thanks to Manifest Pictures.

“People Walk Dogs Late at Night in the Suburbs”

Drake Wootton (Dir), 24 minutes, USA, New York Premiere

Director Drake Wootton in attendance.

A married high school teacher attempts to keep his life together after having an affair with his student. As the film builds in intensity, we follow two parallel stories: (1.) The teacher as he desperately clings to his unraveling world, fearful his student will disclose his transgression, and (2.) the pregnant wife, as she hires and forms a connection with the class clown from her husband's class.

“The Long-Reigning King of Rollercastle Skateland”

David Hull (Dir), 13 minutes, USA, Western New York Premiere

Director David Hull in attendance.

The long-tenured manager of an aging, castle-themed roller rink faces the final three days of business for his beloved little empire. A quirky, neon-dripping exploration of loneliness, nostalgia and generational obsolescence amidst changing times. Shot on 16mm film. Starring the great Michael Hitchcock.

“Randy As Himself”

Margaret Miller (Dir), 11 minutes, USA, New York State Premiere

A Hollywood production crew comes to West Texas to recreate the grisly murder of a local woman. Using locals to re-enact the crime, Reality TV meets Reality in this bizarre romantic comedy about the (show) business of murder.

“Wrecking Party”

Elizabeth Giamatti (Dir), 12 minutes, USA, Western New York Premiere

Kate and Lily arrive at a party together, but they have very different trajectories over the course of the night.
