Joe Kowalski (Dir), 97 minutes, Albania / Denmark / North Macedonia / Sweden / USA, Western New York Premiere

Director Joe Kowalski and Documentary Participant Dr. Robert Motum in attendance.

In English + Albanian, Danish, Macedonian, Swedish w/ English subtitles.

Micronations travels the world to explore an eccentric community of people inventing their own countries. From backyard kingdoms to full-blown micronational summits, this whimsical debut gives a glimpse into a DIY culture of self-declared kings, queens, and emperor; and transforms into a timely exploration of borders, identity, and the meaning of community in an increasingly fragmented world.
