This panel focuses on The Erie Situation – a place-based, nonfiction film, in which Director David J. Ruck focuses his lens on Lake Erie's toxic algae blooms and the importance of this fresh water resource. Ruck is joined on this panel by Phillip Campanile, a WNY-based PhD candidate at UC Berkeley, whose research focuses on post-industrial ecosystems; and Margaret Wooster, PhD – a Great Lakes Ecoregion Network and Western New York Environmental Alliance Board Member, and author of several books about WNY's waterways, with 40+ years of experience working with and caring for these waters.
