Students turn their passion into a profession, and learn the ins and outs of the filmmaking industry at Villa Maria – WNY’s only BFA in Digital Filmmaking. Villa Maria offers a practical, focused education that blends hands-on learning experience with the expert instruction and personalized guidance students need to land a job in one of the fastest growing fields in New York State.

With courses in photography, graphic design, production, sound, lighting and more… students master every stage of the entire digital filmmaking process. In addition to creating an amazing portfolio, students will create the complete package for their future employer. Villa Maria offers small classes and an array of industry forward internships.

Villa also offers an On-Set Production Assistant program – a bootcamp-style experience that exposes participants to what goes on behind the scenes of any film project. Students network with participants and filmmakers at Buffalo FilmWorks to take a step towards earning a coveted spot in a WNY’s film union.

Villa also offers an affordable, two-day program that introduces participants to the practical skills necessary to join WNY’s growing film industry. Students work with crew members to learn the equipment and techniques necessary for a set that’s safe, professional, and ready for action!
