Oct 8 @ 3:00PM – 4:00PM: Live @ Buffalo Toronto Public Media + live streamed to social media platforms + BIFF's website
This panel focuses on BIFF's 20th Anniversary Festival Opening Night Gala film – LITTLE AUDREY, a film based on a true story of a mysterious phenomena surrounding a comatose girl in Massachusetts. Filmed in Buffalo and starring Emily VanCamp, Jennifer Esposito, Aidan Quinn and Josh Bowman, LITTLE AUDREY is based on the story of Audrey Santo, the Worcester, Massachusetts girl whose life became associated with reports of unexplained healings, weeping and bleeding religious statues, bleeding Eucharistic hosts, and other extraordinary phenomena that drew thousands of pilgrims to her family's home.
Following a near-drowning accident as a young child, Audrey was left profoundly disabled and unable to speak. Yet as her physical world became smaller, people came from across the country and around the world to pray, and seek healing, hope and answers. Reports of extraordinary events surrounding Audrey eventually attracted widespread attention and scrutiny. The film focuses on faith, family, suffering, hope, and the possibility of miracles. Panelists will discuss their film, the production process, creative exchanges, and more.
Panelists: LITTLE AUDREY Director Michael Mailer, Producer Jeff Thomas, and more TBA.
Moderator: Anna Scime
